Regardless of where I am in the world, I naturally gravitate towards character-driven stories. Much of the news I cover as a social video producer is on heavy and complex topics. So naturally, when I can do the reporting myself, I gravitate towards stories that highlight the “joy and wonder” of the world.
I have pitched, shot and produced multiple social videos, across the country and even abroad, which have garnered hundreds of thousands of views on Instagram.

This 16-year-old adoptee became her Texas university’s youngest-ever graduate

I pitched, shot and produced this piece on Texas Woman’s University’s youngest-ever graduate, 16-year-old Hana Taylor Schlitz, who lost her biological mother to tuberculosis and was put in an orphanage in Ethiopia at only 10 months old. The record was previously held by her sister Haley.
This has garnered over 275,000 views on Instagram.

Nigerian-born Adejoké Bakare made history in February after becoming the UK's first Black female chef to win a Michelin star.
Since then, she said business at her modern west African restaurant Chishuru, based in central London, has been booming.
